Who is Sally
My ancestorial origin is from India but I was born in Fiji. I have spent most of my life, since late teen, in New Zealand before relocating to Perth.
As a seasoned trauma therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating a diverse range of life experiences. My journey has shaped a culturally responsive and compassionate approach, fostering a professional and supportive environment where you can safely confront your challenges and cultivate meaningful, lasting change.
I am a proud mother to two wonderful young women and a dutiful daughter caring for my aging parents. I share my life with a supportive partner of seven years, and although we are now in a long-distance relationship for the past year, due to circumstances beyond our control, this journey has proven to be both challenging and enriching.
A lifelong learner and a quiet advocate for kindness, I firmly believe in the existence of healing, connection, and empowerment that is free from harm.
In addition to my clinical practice, I mentor and supervise counsellors, guiding them in developing cultural awareness and trauma-informed practices.

Beyond the therapist
Before embarking on my journey as a therapist, I spent years traversing various countries, classrooms, and communities, immersing myself in the stories people carry about life, love, loss, belonging, and identity. Over time, I came to understand how trauma and personal narratives often coexist within the same individual—how shame, fear, silence, and cultural expectations can profoundly influence our capacity to connect with ourselves and others.
My experiences living, working and volunteering across different countries and cultures have deepened my understanding of the messages we inherit about worth, shame, relationships, and the societal expectations surrounding how we should live or love. I create a compassionate, curious, and respectful space for these stories, inviting you to explore what feels authentic rather than what has been imposed upon you.
In my practice, I integrate IFS-informed EMDR, narrative therapy, and somatic approaches to help individuals reconnect with their bodies, create agentic identities, reclaim joy, and cultivate a genuine sense of safety. Healing is not merely about "getting over it"; it involves learning to listen to your body once more, reclaiming what has been lost, and moving forward in a manner that feels achievable for you.

Insight into our work
Together, we will explore the complexities of your experiences, which may stem from childhood adversity, sexual assault, intimacy and sexuality concerns, attachment wounds, or both single-incident and repeated traumatic events. If you've ever left therapy feeling frustrated after trying various approaches without finding lasting relief, I understand. My goal is to help you uncover the reasons behind this and to provide a personalised path forward.
In our collaborative work, we'll utilise EMDR, merging your self-knowledge with my clinical knowledge and experience. Our focus will be on alleviating emotional distress, establishing healthy boundaries, rebuilding trust in yourself, and restoring a sense of safety within your body. You will remain in control throughout the process, deciding what to share and when. Therapy will progress at a pace and in directions that feel right for you.
You don’t need to have all the answers before you start—just a willingness to take that first step. I’ll be there to support you with compassion, without judgment, and always in partnership with you and your body.
